The Universality of the University

To educate basically signifies to teach what can be learned, but above all to teach the learner his power and his finitude—to open up his mind to his intellectus itself.

No authentic university can dispense with theology. If there is no knowledge, and therefore no teaching or education without love of the truth, then none of these exist either without a science of love.
