Muso Kokushi

Greed—Just as greed for worldly things is inhibiting and self defeating, so also craving for otherworldly things prevents the opening of the mind.

Answer to Prayer—The withholding of divine aid from those who would become presumptuous, more attached, more indulgent, and more shameless if their wishes were fulfilled is itself divine aid to such people. In a corrupt age, when prayers are not answered, that is itself the answer.
