Jesus Prayer—Prayer of the Heart (audio)

The Jesus Prayer, also known simply as “The Prayer”, is the central jaculatory prayer of the Eastern Churches. It is often repeated continually as a part of personal devotion, and as an integral part of the monastic tradition of prayer known as Hesychasm. We present three recordings of the recitation of this prayer by well-known Orthodox authorities.

The Prayer consists of one simple formula: “Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy upon me.” The recordings below give the Greek form of the prayer: Kyrie Iesou Christe, eleison me.
