The sun, gold, and yellow, were the symbols of the human understanding enlightened or illuminated by divine revelation. It is in this sense that the prophet Daniel says, that those who are wise shall be shining with light, and that those who shall influence others to do justly shall shine eternally as the stars. Solomon expresses the same thought in saying that the head of the wise is of the purest gold.
