The Lord’s Prayer (also called the Pater Noster or “Our Father”) is a central prayer in Christianity, part of the liturgy and also part of the daily personal devotions of most Christians, who would usually recite it in their mother languages. It first appears in the New Testament (Gospel of Luke) where Jesus is approached by “one of his disciples” with a request to teach them “to pray as John taught his disciples.” For versions of this prayer in many languages please follow this link.
