The Vision of God in Philo of Alexandria

For Philo any obedience to the Law is a way of puting into action the contents of the divine mind, and so ultimately a kind of imitatio Dei… On the one hand, becoming like God through virtuous action is a means of preparing for the vision; on the other, the vision results in yet greater assimilation to God because of the overwhelming power and intensity of the divine presence.
